I have watched an Indian movie, “3 idiots” about a hundred times. It is inspiring movie.
3 idiots was about three students of the Imperial College of engineering. The ICE entrance was hard, so the students were geniuses. Paradoxically, heroes were idiots.
But three idiots were not really stupid. They had different ways of thinking in new frames.
The head of ICE emphasized scores, efficiency, and employment. He did not want students to be scientists. He wanted them to try to be a winner of social competitive environment. He did not respect their dreams and talents, so three idiots were against him. Three idiots had their own talents and dreams.
Finally, the head of ICE admitted that he was wrong. Heroes, which were 3 idiots, followed their dreams. The movie had a happy ending.
There was an impressive line, "All is Well."
Rancho (Aamar Khan), the spiritual leader, had always said "Aal izz Well," as if he were enchanting a magic spell. He believed everything is going to be okay.
When I watched 3 idiots, I thought of education problems in Korea. It was not much different with India in this movie. In Korea, parents wanted their children to go to a school with high reputations and get a good job with big fame and money. How about our dreams?
Parents did so in the hope that their children would live without suffering. It was hard to find dreams or achieve dreams. However, It was not desirable to emphasize realistic goals aside from dreams. Dreams vs Reality, it was difficult problem.
Anyway I also believe that everything would be all right.
